CASE STUDY:

Charging Towards the Future

The Challenge

As electric vehicle ownership continues to soar in popularity the need for more
charging stations is on the rise. Building upon our success in the telecommunication
market, Advantage Engineers was retained to provide engineering, analysis, and
design services for multiple providers of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in
the northeast and the mid-Atlantic region. The client needed site surveys and
design services to determine the best location for the charging stations.

Our Solution

Our in-house engineers walked the potential sites, created photo simulations
of the construction, created construction drawings and prepared electrical load
analysis. Utility company regulations, metering requirements, and construction codes were precisely followed,
expediting the permitting process. To date, Advantage Engineers has delivered designs for more than 75 EV charging station sites in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, District of Columbia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Our licensed professional engineers were able to apply principles of telecom work and execute the same process for rolling out EV Charging stations.

The new EVgo fast charging stations will offer 100-350-kilowatt capabilities to meet the needs of an increasingly powerful set of EVs coming to market.

The Result

Our licensed professional engineers brought innovative solutions to the table and
were able to fully complete the project safely and on time. Due to the success of our
early deliverables, we became a trusted source to develop more sites for the client.
